Uh...
Well, I guess my impulsively making this forum makes it official. I'm going to be working on it and soon.

Re: Uh...
No, that's not true.
Well good, it'd be a nice change from the whole two epic army standpoint.
I could use a little more run and gun action on bnet.
Let me know if you need anything specific done for the map...I have nothing but time in this world of work.

*Downloads*
*Tries*
Not bad for an alpha, not bad at all.
Ever played Tomb of Jarahcon? Similar style, but further along in development, I can upload the two versions I have on rapidshare or mediafire if you want.

Re: Uh...
There was a discussion of the differences between obsidian depths and tomb of jarahcon in the channel a while back, I believe.
The problem that I have seen with Tomb of Jarahcon is that every level that I've gotten to is essentially the same. There's no huge differences in strategy between levels. I dunno, it's alright, but just gets boring after a while. Dusk mentioned some examples of how OD will be different.

Re: Uh...
Phox hit the nail on the head there. Tomb of Jarahcon is very linear, predictable, easy (Until it becomes impossible, not even challenging), repetitive, and boring. None of these things apply to the way OD is developed and will be developed. In addition, I think I've developed more of an atmosphere even in the first level than ToJ has in its entire map. I actually was inspired for OD by Zelda dungeons, the boss of the future fourth level is actually nearly entirely inspired by Gohma.

Re: Uh...
Well awesome, I've been wanting a good alternative map, and with you programming it, it should be just that. I'll try out the download, see what I think. Very interested in the seeing the final version however.

God, I so feel like continuing that OoT game I started a while ago in which I would stay with 3 hearts for the whole game =D.
Re: Uh...
Oh yeah I agree, the map is very hack, slash, heal, rinse and repeat; but the systems used to improve your hero are similar and Jarahcon can be used as an example on how to improve upon those ideas.Phox wrote:There was a discussion of the differences between obsidian depths and tomb of jarahcon in the channel a while back, I believe.
