Boss Suggestion

-Enter Level-
Slither, Everfroth Slime

A slime spawns, it attacks in melee range, but it's fast and can leap forward to catch up with heroes.

Conditions:
If it's hp reaches half of max, it's max hp is set to the half-max hp instead. And another slime splits from the boss, with equal hp and stuff.

If one of them takes damage, all of them will.

So on and so forth until they all dies.


Skill 1: One of the slime detonates, dealing magical damage and burns small amount of mana from surrounding heroes.
Skill 2: All of the slime dashes forward, if one of them hits a hero, the unfortunate hero will be entangled with slime for a breif while.

Ultimate: All slime gains freezing attacks which slows attacked unit (stacks.) Lasts for a while.


(Idea of splitting slime is from Avernum series, lol.)

Slimes are really impersonal as boss battles, though, but that would be a cool idea for just a generic bad guy in a level. Also, I'm not sure if you are aware, but I've already got all of the bosses planned out.

If it's a generic monster, well, you could use "hydra split" ability as a substitute anyway.

Slimes are a classic monster type in dungeon crawls, so I think this monster definitely fits with Obsidian Depths.

It has strange behavior, such as the splitting occurring on death. The main problem is that there really isn't a good model for a slime. (Please do not suggest that sludge piece of crap model)

Lol, just kidding, but maybe you could attach the "water" model underneath a unit, to make it looks slimy or something.

(But I really was thinking of your aforementioned crappy sludge model, as it was the closest thing that resembles a slime.)

I don't know what awful sludge model you're referring to, but I'd like to see something like a gelatinous cube that splits 3-4 times when it reaches 50% health like gao initially described.

There is a model like that, but it's completely dreadful and does not fit into OD's setting.

There are models of that in some maps, although it wouldn't fit OD.

My version of slime looks like puddles...but it walks. Or creeps through the floor.

But it doesn't have to be slime....sheesh...it could be splitting blademasters for all I care.

"The haunting Edge" that kept haunts you with the split-spam until you succumb.

I think your talking about the goo model... Its fluorescent green though, looks a lot like a cube of jelly o_O

With a class 25 broad axe and a SOUL SUCKING sword.

Have him in a labyrinth type level...hunting the heroes...
Survive XXX time because Gigex has 10 life but a 95% evasion rate, with immunity to spells of course.
