Then you should reconsider who your friends are, because serious friends won't whine to you about you being a certain way. I know that my friends don't care what I do, what I look like, whether or not I fit some label, they'd back me up if I charged headlong into the depths of hell. That's what makes them my friends.Because I don't need my friends b*tching about how I live my life.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
I probably fit the stereotypical "nerd" category better than most people here.
I spend the majority of my time playing video games or on the internet, I avoid social events as much as possible, I have very few friends and the ones that I do have I usually hang out with online as much as in real life, I enjoy reading and learning (even though I hate school and am amazingly lazy), I hang out in the computer lab most of the time during school, the list goes on and on.
However, I don't really consider myself or my friends "nerds". I simply feel that most of the people in my town are moronic and not worth my effort to befriend. When I do hang out with people it's usually a small group made up of people from several surounding towns that get together from time to time. We have a typical party; movies, food, music, talk and jokes until all hours of the morning.
I guess that anyone can be a nerd or a jock or a goth whatever other stereotypical class they want just by thinking they are and acting that way.
So in a word "NO" we are not nerds.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
Im not going to read through all of that but i will say something on the matter and i hope it was already said.
I honestly couldnt care less if people think im a nerd or not. If having people on the internet to talk to and discuss things make you a nerd than so be it. If you have friends that think of you as nerds then i suppose you should consider new friends. Thats why poppy defect and myself make good friends, we are into similiar things. I do more athletic things than poppy but i dont condemn him for it. And he doesnt consider me a jock or anything of the sort for doing more sporty things. Wether we are nerds by enjoying playing games and talking to people is for anyeone to say. But i honestly dont care if they think so or not. Nor should anyeone else.

I agree with king. I mean what the hell does "nerd" even mean? So what if we play games and talk on the internet and shit. As the saying goes labels are for soup cans and personaly im not a soup can. I hope you guys arent either because soup cans dont type.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
Well...
I am a nerd, hooray!
I mean dude, I play games, so I must be a nerd.
That stereotype is beginning to phlail.
Nerd is such a loose term...
Everyone around here plays video games, even if its rarely, they do.
I recently found out two friends of mine have played WC3 for a while but nobody else ever knew. I thought it was crazy when I heard it.
On a serious note:
"Are we nerds?"
Who are we to make decisions for you?

Re: Are we....NERDS?
That was meant to be humorous . The topic shouldn't be totally serious.

Then the making of this topic totally bit you in the ass
It started a good discussion though.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
The line between the average person and the stereotypical "nerd" is becoming thinner and thinner. Everyday I see people in my school walking by, reading naruto or bleach or other manga. Everyday on the bus, I hear jocks talk about the latest sports games, right after talking about their guild and characters on WoW.
The point is, the stereotypical nerd and jock cliques are no more, at least not to any extreme extent.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
In my eleventh and twelfth years of high school I became really popular with my class. It was after everyone realized they had no reason to be afraid of me.
Am I a bit strange? Yes. Nerdy? Sure. Lazy? Most definitely. I'm even a tad anti-social. But I had scores of friends, including some of the most popular people in the school.
I've played poker, gone into hot tubs, and been invited to parties with these people. I say invited because I hardly ever go; I'm not a big party monster. This includes the most recent New Years party I could have went to made up entirely of people from my class.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
well lets see here...
Am we all nerds? I wouldn't say so... I would say we are a good mix of gamers/intellectual, creative and bored students/geeks (maybe), gun-aholics...
Personally? I am a bit dorky... I mean, in Geometry 1, my teacher drew a circle with a smaller circle in the top, right piece of the sphere. There was a curved line through the middle. I said it looked like the Death Star and the whole class was like "wtf?" So I yelled at them for their lack of culture. I'm more just a random, mentally ill, hippy, death metal, psyco mofo. I'm a bit of a class-clown... and a bit of an intellectual student, but also a slacker who sleeps in every class. I'm very varied with my social click.
