Are we....NERDS?
Are we....*Massive intake of breath*...NERDS?
I was talking to a friend in school, and we were....I dunno...I think I had taken his binder....and he said, "Give it back, or I'll tell everybody that you're on a forum."
Now, that got me thinking. Is it actually...nerdy?...to be on a forum? I'd say yes, but this is VZ, with Kaome, a ferret-god....your thoughts on this?
Sidenote: This guy is the definition of nerd, so it hurt a little...it's like a fat person telling you in all seriousness that you're obese.

Well there are individuals in the forum whom are nerds(not saying it's a bad thing). Shinning examples would be; Dusk, Kaome, Crevax [diet pill!] and Storm. Some of us act like total idiots because we're bored, but I know that we're smart enough to know what 1+1 is. Expect for Steve *cough*.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
None of us are the stereotypical nerd with a pocket protector and glasses thicker than most binders, so you've got nothing to fear about being called a nerd. Honestly, we're just a group of modern-age gamers that happened to group together for random outbursts of insanity across the internet. That doesn't say anything about the type of people we are, in all seriousness.
Your understanding of a nerd is far from accurate. If you met Kaome or myself in real life, you'd be amazed to find we play video games at all (Unless you caught us during a random epicness skit). We're just that far removed from what you would expect of it, honestly.Well there are individuals in the forum whom are nerds(not saying it's a bad thing). Re: Are we....NERDS?
I'm sure by your definition of a nerd, I would fall under that category.
However, most of my friends do not even know that I play video games. While I enjoy them, they're not an essential part of my life.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
Lol, I guess I'm more afraid of the conversation.
"Irish is on a forum."
"No, mates, its a cool forum, we-'ve got-"
"NERD!"
Bah, whatever. Just me. I still like the replies though...(Steve....not a nerd....just far too public with his sex-life ).
I'd say everybody's definition of nerd is different, but most are broad definitions.

You mean entire lack thereof, right?(Steve....not a nerd....just far too public with his sex-life ).

Noble, I'm not even close to being the "shining example of a nerd." Do you think a "nerd" would run Track and qualify for the State Championships? I doubt it. That isn't very "nerd-like." I'm far removed from any social clique that I have been subjected to. I'm quite the odd person to meet.

I don't think I'm a nerd... I just study the internal mechanisms of guns/firearm evolution and/or history and ballistics faaaaaaaar too much...
The enemy are in disarray, ride them down as they run
Send them to their violent graves, don't spare anyone
Dead and wounded lie all around, see the pain in their eyes
Over the field an eerie sound, as we hear the raven's cry

Re: Are we....NERDS?
Lol, if I recall correctly, it was more to do with the fact that we were a warcraft 3 clan forum thingamajig then anything else...whatever.
Lol, Dusk, you should hear Steve on msn. Every other time:
"I just had sex."
"What was it like?"
"It rocks."
Steve is easily one of the most entertaining people here.

That's just how Steve Imagines it would be. Everyone has to have dreams right?
As to the actual definition of nerd...I'm probably the closest fitting one here...at least in terms of social/behavior standards...Though I think I look d*mn sexy for a nerd.

Re: Are we....NERDS?
I have asked my self this question before when we were all sitting at lunch table with a group of people, some of which are my friends. The answer is, No. Most of us do not indulge in mathematics and are art centered and mostly talk about Anime and the upcoming release of Super Smash Brawl, we are not socially secluded and I would only call my self socially awkward. All of us have interesting private lives and interests and do normal things.
What I can say is this, We all have a distaste for most sports, we all have a distaste for people who act stupid (note not are stupid cause we aren't the smartest bunch) We very different choices in music, we all take the same above average below super over achiever classes, and all of us forum, although on different forums and different topics and interests.
As for this forum..Not really but we do have a few cultist characteristics, like nerd cult characteristics.

I resent that. Just because I'm a physicist, love math, and love science doesn't make me a nerd in the least. The answer is, No. Most of us do not indulge in mathematics...

Re: Are we....NERDS?
Everyone that I have associated with knows that I am a "nerd". Probably because I am always lazy and never enthusiastic about activities. Hell, my friends always b*tch and complain about how "nerdy" I am since I stay in my house all the time. I'm sorry but lol, I can't find fun when I'm outside with them. xD I need better friends, I think that's the solution -_-; But I don't fit into those "stereotypes" except for the stay inside the house all day part. xD
Let's do what comes naturally
I'll be waiting in Haven.
