Rocking on in Heaven - RIP Les Paul

Post by Vinnam » Fri Aug 14, 2009 1:06 am

In case you hadn't heard, Les Paul, one of the great guitar gods, renowned both for his technique and innovation, passed away this morning at the age of 94. Perhaps best known by the masses for his namesake, the Gibson Les Paul electric guitar, he was nevertheless an amazing guitarist. Though I didn't listen to much of his work personally, he inspired... probably every rock guitarist since his time. He continued playing up until the end, playing every Monday night at a jazz club in New York City.

Crank that sound up to 11 in heaven, Les Paul. You will be missed.

I saw this in my paper this morning, and I feel really bad right now, just as bad as when MJ died.

Logue: Please replace the toilet paper when you use it all. For some reason my 5 year old son believes if it's not there he does not have to wipe.

RIP Les Paul. My dad was in New York last week, and considered staying to watch him play, but decided to just go next time with the fam :(.
