The Dead Rise in the Emerald City

So, a few days a go I happened to be in Seattle visiting SIB (Seattle International Beer Festival), when I heard about this Zombie Walk '09.

Sounds cool, I thought. So, I went to a thrift store, bought some cheap clothes, ripped 'em up, put some red marker and ketchup on, and drove down to Fremont, where the event was taking place. "Eh, there'll just be a few other goofballs like me," I thought.

When I got there, I noticed two things:

1) There was a registration booth for registering your name in the Guiness Book of World Records for Largest Zombie Walk.

2) The line to register was three blocks long and growing.

So, long story short, I got bloodied up (they had a quick "blood booth"), walked around Fremont for a few hours scaring the sh*t out of people who had no idea what was going on, entertaining the rest, and stayed around and watched "Shaun of the Dead" outdoors with all my zombie kindred.

Oh, by the way, we also broke the world record with 3,848 zombies. Woohoo!

Yay, zombies. Although I find it ironic that if a zombie outbreak actually happened, the last thing you'd be doing would be masquerading around as them in wanton celebration.
