GW worth playing? I mean buying, installing, registering, all that. Will I be disappointed?

Depends.

Buying the original AND all the expansions are gonna be a drag though.

It's the only game over the past 6 years that I've purchased. I enjoy it in spurts, but it certainly won't suck you into an endless addiction like WoW.. That isn't to say it isn't fun though, I really enjoy it myself. Consider looking into a trial version or something first at their site, http://www.guildwars.com.

I havnt bothered witht he expansions and thats fine for me. Like dusk said its good in spurts where you will be playing it and loving it for a period of time and lose all ambition to play it for another period.

Guild Wars is great because it can easily be approached in either a casual or serious gaming way. :P

I suggest getting the original Guild Wars before you get any of the other installments.
