Channel, the Gangrenous Catalyst

Post by Phox » Wed Oct 15, 2008 9:19 pm

Channel
Gangrenous Catalyst
Strength (Should probably have about Glyphe's health); Either.
Abomination Model

Story

Level 1 Skill:
Incorporation
  • Channels to absorb a corpse for up to 10 seconds, being healed for X each second. Additionally, the Gangrenous Catalyst will gain bleed for 10 seconds.
Level 1 Skill:
Paranormal Hemorrhage
  • Does X damage and causes Burn for Y seconds to the target area and the Gangrenous Catalyst . Does Z additional damage for each second of bleed the Gangrenous Catalyst is suffering from. (Should be a fairly short range, but further then melee)
Level 1 Skill:
Draconian Medium
  • [Active Passive] While active, grants X bonus damage. Additionally, whenever a nearby enemy unit gains a condition, it is also inflicted with Maim and Cripple for Y (short) seconds. Drains a small amount health and mana while active.
Level 6 Ultimate:
Unity of Blood
  • [Passive] Whenever the Gangrenous Catalyst takes damage, he will steal X (low) life from nearby units for each condition they possess.
The second skill could use a new name, but that's about all I can think of at the moment... I guess he could too, although Channel is pretty much what he is supposed to be: A walking flesh puppet that serves as an amplifier for spells on other flesh around him.

I like the overall feel of this character and the skill set.

I like how the ultimate brings all the other skills together. It'd be awesome if you could incorporate a corpse-spit in the hero. But it's still cool, haha.

Don't really like how the first skill is virtually cannibalize with bleed, but other than that good.

Yeah, I know. Here's the thing, though. He needs a way to heal himself before the ultimate, since he'll be taking damage from 2nd and 3rd skills. However, since you can stop channeling early and use it for the bleed, which helps the ultimate. I'm removing the Bleed form nearby units, since that seemed a bit contrived.

Seta, I was visualizing the second skill as him basically vomiting up a cloud of blood and gore. I considered the corpse-spit idea, but I'm not really sure how to incorporate it without it seeming tacked on, though. Suggestions would be welcome, though.

And I guess I'm not really sure what you mean by your comment, Dusk...

I knew who Slurp was...
I just wasn't sure what you meant by 'needs more'... Oh well.

You must've not known him very well, then! He eats corpses with an innate and uses them for his spells. It's quite awesome, not going to lie. xD

His systems and spells are all mostly written too, I just sort of need to flip a switch to turn him on in the 2.XX series. Hrm.

Wow, burst of inspiration! I'm gonna revisit this hero later today with that new idea, I think. After I finish hw...

When I said that, I had the corpse spitter in D2 in mind. But really, any corpse spitting would be cool

My idea didn't quite turn out as well as I planned. Ended up seeming a bit overcomplicated and contrived, but I updated the second skill.

I really think the slurp manner of living will flourish far better come 3.00. :p

It's 3.00, though. I can't exactly engage in much complication for DoE. He wasn't even based on Slurp... =P
