Vihlia, Desert Wraith

This is where the best of the best hero suggestions get placed for respect. They might not have made it into DoE for one reason or another, but damned these suggestions were good. Maybe they could work for other maps, that's why they are here for reference. Check them all out!

Desert Wraith
Intelligence; Bane.

Level 1 Skill:
Phantom Menace
  • Target Unit, Chain.
    Target unit takes X magickal damage (medium) and suffers from a random condition for 6 seconds. This bolt bounces to foes nearby the target unit suffering no conditions, dealing 20% less damage per bounce and inflicting its random conditions for 20% less duration. Bounces up to Y times or until it strikes a unit suffering a condition.
Level 1 Skill:
Parch
  • Target Unit.
    Target enemy unit takes X (low) magickal damage and Vihlia steals Y life from it for each condition it is suffering.
Level 1 Skill:
Quicksand
  • Passive, Aura.
    All nearby foes move X% slower for each condition they are suffering from.
Level 6 Ultimate:
Pins & Needles
  • Target AOE, Channeled.
    All enemy units in target area take X physical damage per second, have all conditions they suffer from spread to all other units in the area of effect, and have those conditions extended by Y%.
    Lasts 15 seconds.
This is my take on Vinnam's contest #3 hero mixed with a bit of my own madness in tow. I do like the random condition idea, but I feel the way I originally had Meridia doing it on her arrows was too much. I feel, however, that the way Phantom Menace works on this hero for random conditions is great because you can't hyper stack conditions on an enemy. You could cast it on a unit already suffering a condition, inflicting another, but then it wouldn't bounce at all. That would have to be up to the player and the metagame to decide if it was worth it or not. This effectively evens out the potential unfairness of having access to all conditions.

She sustains herself as a fragile intelligence caster with Parch where she steals life for each condition the target suffers. Note that without the ultimate, she can really only inflict one on an enemy at a time, maybe 2 if you use the aforementioned target-unit-PM. She works way better in team scenarios because of mass conditions and becomes a vicious force of nature combined with Exuro/Tornne.

I like the ultimate a lot because it has the Armageddon casting circle that nothing else on the Bane really has for an ult. It deals its damage per second and all (all less than Armageddon's DPS), but it's real killer is that it spreads conditions and then extends them. If she's centered on the AOE, this combines great with her aura (and cripple if you inflicted it!) to really anchor enemies down inside the AOE and potentially suffer from huge condition durations at devastating cost to them.

I really, really like her. I enjoy the simplicity of Parch and Quicksand and I think that Phantom Menace succeeds to fulfill the DoE-ification of Chain Lightning well. She feels like a Hero that should have been in the game since day one... Also, Kassar just got owned by her Passive.

That's really cool!
I was thinking though, does she really apply enough conditions to a single unit on her own to get a decent return from Parch? It could be made an AoE maybe.

Edit: Ahh you sort of already addressed that.

Not really. Remember that it's a team game. There are many times where I might get QS at level 1 for a particularly nasty early-game team combo with another hero.

This hero actually looks really cool :) I can't find any counter productivities with it

Once again, Dusk has obtained win.

I assume that Phantom Menace, if cast on a single unit that already suffers from conditions, it will extend a random condition on the target and still take damage?

Yes, except it won't bounce. Pretty sure I mentioned that in the notes at the bottom.
