OXY'S CRAZY HERO THREAD OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
Re: OXY'S CRAZY HERO THREAD OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
This thread is about as useful as a balancing thread on blizzard's WoW forums.

Except not.
There are, inevitably, best builds. I believe this is one of the reasons why Cassiel and Dusk are taking different approaches to skill distribution in their future projects. Cass has planned two skill points to be available at level 1 for ToB O, while Dusk has said that every skill will have already been learned at level 1 in AotZ 3.0.Okay, guys, seriously - why do you keep mentioning your own builds? All Dusk is doing is suggesting alternate builds that ARE used, I've seen all of this done plenty of times.
Re: OXY'S CRAZY HERO THREAD OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
Except some of the stuff there is going to be in either 1.10 or 1.09c :S :S :S :S notably changes to Caliga's voidwalk, tombreaver, oblivion seal, vela's bone prison, atrius's sandstorm ( not the way it's written though, they won't get switched with the ulti... )Rectifier wrote:This thread is about as useful as a balancing thread on blizzard's WoW forums.
In conclusion

did you just really openly admit to be reading wow forums? Shame on you.
And for comparing Dusk with Blizzard? That's just starting to be insulting now

Haha, good one.Oxygen wrote:did you just really openly admit to be reading wow forums? Shame on you.
This is certainly correct for both Cass and myself, though that isn't the only reason we're approaching it that way. (There's a whole design logic behind all of the mechanics this changes, etc.)Merlin wrote:There are, inevitably, best builds. Ah, so I was right to believe it was only one reason. I haven't seen enough of that design, so I won't speculate any further for now.
Re: OXY'S CRAZY HERO THREAD OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
Doesn't take a genius to know that the WoW forums are all about bitching and idiocy; which for the most part is what this thread has accomplished.
Some people, such as Merlin, are actually asking legitimate questions and are thus exempt from this statement:
Dusk has it all well in hand, and doesn't need asinine posts to fix or change what he's already in the process of fixing or
changing. Rational posts, however, which generally inform or request a slight change in the map and actually have a
tangible meaning, seem to be lacking in this thread, which is why I posted in the first place. I'm not calling anybody out,
but come on, it's a waste of time for both the poster and reader to absorb and respond to useless information displayed
on what is supposed to be a serious forum. If you want to waste time, go ahead and post in the off-topic section, nobody
has a problem with that, it's there for a reason, but please don't waste time in an on-topic forum.

It's not asinine, though, Rect. The truth is that Oxy has his own feelings about the map and how he would make it and I respect that, though I am quite capable (And not averse to) putting my foot down and telling him that it just won't work regardless of what he thinks. There are a lot of things he doesn't consider, but at the same time there is always the case that I forget to consider as well; no one is perfect, eh? That's why these forums exist, so everyone can input their own ideas, feelings, and revelations. It is the cumulation of knowledge that makes maps great, not the hoarding or ignorance to it.

And it wouldn't be the DoE forums without Oxy.
His suggestions are sometimes good idea sparkers for Hero Suggestion or for balancing already made heroes, or even to inform people about the confirmed changes.

Do not prejudge me please, and read my posts more carefully, they never insulted anybody individually; and if I'm completely wrong about this whole thing, then why is this thread, which seems to mostly contain back and forths on hero suggestions, in the Hero Review Section rather than the Hero Suggestions section?
I'm not insulting Oxy or anything like that, I'm just saying that many of these posts review material unnecessarily. Or they provide no information for further understanding relevant issues; in a thread that just so happened to have been created by Oxy, which coincidentally, me having a dissenting opinion for the majority of the thread is an insult to a single person. And to top it off, the topic is in the wrong section to begin with, which normally I don't have a problem with, but now I have to speak up about it to defend myself. So far the only person who has been directly insulted is myself and my intelligence; I didn't join this forum to have my posts so badly misunderstood, and I'm sure you guys didn't either.
Those are my two cents.

No one 'prejudged' you (Whatever that means) and no one is overlooking anything in your posts. Stop being so melodramatic and stop being off-topic in this thread, please. Also, this thread is a large hero review thread, so it makes perfect sense where it is.

Not insulting anybody? Calling somebody's writing asinine is an insult.

Nono, see, he didn't INDIVIDUALLY insult people, he just grouped everyone together and insulted them that way.

Honestly I think Bone Cage creating a corpse in the middle of it would be much cleaner than creating corpses when you teleport.
Your move.

I think Vela's wonderful as she is.
"Within every world, there are cultures, within every culture, there are groups, within every group, there are leaders. These leaders are not truly chosen, they are destined, it is their fate to lead, and it is this fate that drives them. Souls yearn to be driven, they in themselves can not direct, however, these leaders are predetermined, by whatever means, to guide the wills and mend the errors of these wandering souls. A forest, cold, cured, flawless, meticulous, and fearful, what drives it, what keeps the balance? The inner beings of all the co-existant creatures swarm together, and every one is guided by another, in more a cycle, then a hierarchy. The eyes of a forest are always watching and guiding, yet the sun never sets on the forest, and it never shall." ~ The Chaos Theory
