Have it "refract" a portion of incoming damage to random invisible units, increasing portion by maybe 3-4% per unit, with a base of 20-30%? It accomplishes hiding the units by not letting the units die by being focus-fired, and allows Glasse to absorb slightly more damage.

But the whole reason Glasse takes all the brunt of the damage is because if he didn't it would be amazingly overpowered. The biggest complaint is that to take this move to the next level of gameplay you need teammates that work together which isn't always available thus give this move one of the biggest ranges of utility.
On the note of increased space provided by each level it is a large increase (pi*r^2 it isn't that hard people ) but many people try to keep themselves in the back of whatever units they are making invisible thus not utilizing the space behind Glasse. An alternative could be that there is a larger cone of invisibility in front of Glasse but then that would just get amazingly annoying when he turns to hit someone so I think it's best the way it is.
