Tristan, v1.09

This is where all random discussion about DoE goes. If it doesn't feel like it fits anywhere else but is still related to the map, this is the place to post it.

That and her face is two planes -- Even in the portrait model. The only hero models as bad as the PotM are the Archmage and Far Seer, both of which are quite possibly the ugliest things ever conceived in a 3-D game.

Garithos is neat and all, but virtually nothing can be done with the model because it's so cluttered. Besides, in terms of knightly stuff, I find the death knight model far superior.

Her legs are missing from the knee down, her arms are about half the size that they should be, and her only spell animation is a Hitler salute.

Personally I like the Garithos model.
Garithos' axe is awesome. But Garithos himself isn't. :P

I just looked in the model editor...they...are...all...legless *shocked*

PotM's portrait is supposed to be very-far away. But again, that makes PotM lose the potential to have beautiful skins.

So yeah, they're bad.

or the Firelord
I've always considered all the firelord models with the armor on kinda ugly...

About Tristan's face, it looks kinda...metallic, almost. Gives him sorta the look you described, Dusk.

paladin*

If victor is getting changed, there will only be one (I think)

Also, how does the book look when he is fighting/casting?

Why do this model, its theme, well, everything about him remind me of Zeratul?

Desert of Archers, Death Knights, Blood Mages and Watchers, actually. We have one paladin only. (for now)

I can't wait for DoE 1.09! This skin is so hugely epic along with the hero theme I can hardly stand it

Indeed! Nice job, AR, as always, on your fantastic artistic skills.

This guy makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... :)

I'm looking forward to what you're calling "hero revamps" of both spells and skillsets. New skills sound so... new.

It's a shame the Arbiters were corrupted.

Nice skin and all, and Hero in general.

Name suggestion!
"Samneric, Samnaric, Semneric, Semnaric?"

Originated from William Golding's Lord of the Flies' "Sam and Eric" aka "Samneric."

The "new" names would be pronouced "Sam-nar-ick" or "Sem-nere-ick;" slightly differs with the different spellings. I think it sort of fits; it kind of rolls out the tongue and the last syllable is sharp/strong.

Watchers?

I don't think I've seen anything that resembles watchers, or you mean Wardens?

Ironically enough, the armor for the original design i did (which was crazy and didn't fit the theme) was heavily influenced by Zeratul's armor in the SC2 concept art.

Tinker sounds fun, does seem to be hard to make it into anything other than a tinker though... semi-mechanical Scamp ftw?
Firelord is difficult to make into anything else, i've never worked with it, but i've heard the wrap is wretched. Would you believe that its standard texture is 512*512 though?

The bastards were preparing for WoW!

Too bad the model itself for the tinker is based on the child model, stupid thing doesn't have the chaotic nature Scamp needs, plus it'd make less than no sense! I wonder how much of that backpack is alphable, though...

It almost looks like his face is made of brown latex in the portrait image. It goes from pale pink to dark brown in like 4 pixels.

I tried to. But it sucks because of the particles that the firelord has.

Gosh, spinning flames.
