Polishing a few options, regulating the machine

This is where all random discussion about DoE goes. If it doesn't feel like it fits anywhere else but is still related to the map, this is the place to post it.

We call it Hallowed Lord or Bane Lord. He's a big bully who roams around the main castle, a bit like creeps from aotz. If one of the outposts are attacked, he rides there, tries to deal with the threat, stays there a for a few, then rides back to base. If he's killed, well, too bad!

Has high magic resistance. Maims on attacking.

I feel like that would really lengthen the game though...

I feel like it's silly. :/
It serves no design purpose other than to look pretty and stop backdooring, which in itself is a design decision to allow.

Well, the order must have some sort of leader at some point? unless its sooooozeennn! Really though, its point IS to stop backdooring. And its even better if it looks pretty. I can't think of any other game that has such a system either. If you really can't stand, I'll keep searching for ideas!

That's because backdooring is more easily prevented by just making a base invulnerable when the enemy base in the lane dies. If I wanted to stop backdooring, it would not be a hard thing to do.

Would it be too annoying to ask if a rank system could be implementable?

It doesn't have to be complex, maybe something like printing the scoreboard at the end of the game in order of who got the most kills/points/whatever.

Not a chance. I am not supportive of the e-peen enhancement system, I'm averse enough to the idea of even monitoring kills/deaths/assists in the first place.

Why did the screen blacks out in the end of the game?

To prevent people from seeing crazy stuff being done in rematching?

I suggest that the screen does not go black, lol.

Staring at a black screen for 60 seconds is boring.

Bad reason, I know.

...That's HORRIBLE reason. It's closer to 15 seconds. If you can't wait 15 seconds...

It's 60 seconds if you don't use -rm. But yeah, disregard my suggestion for that one.

It's 60 seconds so that people have time to do something else like stand up and relax or whatever. Seriously, you know what I do in those 60 seconds? I go to the bathroom usually. It's nice, that way I don't have to worry about missing a few minutes of the game.

I could make it 15 seconds though if that would be preferable. I never saw it as a problem though.

I never get the chance to use the 60 second because everyone ends up using -rm.

So maybe make the 60 second 30, and make the rm's 15, 30. Or 45. 60 feels a bit long, yet without being. It's more than enough for peeing or getting a drink, but nothing at all for cooking something. So yeah, maybe 45.

Well, I just don't like the scoreboard from the previous game vanishing during the 60 second break.
