Re: How'd you play Innert?
Chose his aura as a first skill. Ruining creeps will own the first waves like there's no tomorrow.
Schism is usually used to force someone to move out of a location ( especially a melee hero attacking you, or someone channeling a spell ). Its also used for catching runners, although this requires timing. In addition, it's a great sieging tool with its wide aoe, long range and low cooldown.
Spirit whatever should always be cast behind where you're going to be fighting. You can even put the spirit on control 1 to grab it faster should you be in danger. It's good to have one up in a bunch of fighting creep. It won't be destroyed instantly, as creeps always primarily target other attacking units over wards. So use that one to heal against an enemy hero that damaged you, and use the first one you had casted to run if things get nasty.
Blank is a defensive ultimate that'll not only save you from even the most certain death, but also offensive to the point that it can allow you to take towers down extremely quickly.
As for faction items, sanctuary and mute decreasing items will bring your schism cooldown to two seconds, which is great. Boots of speed aren't too necessary with this guy, because he can use the spirit to run back and escape anybody. Intelligence or rings of vim do the job, as for non faction items. Mana potions over health potions at the start, as he can often fully heal when using spirit wisely. Aka putting it in the middle of the creeps, etc.

Thank you!
Should I up the aura to the max, or leave it at level one?

Try getting into the lane with Vela and get her to bone prison you, and then quickly summon your spirit and unsummon it
Best when she's running at you and is trying to hit you.
