A good player doesn't lose to spammers, ever.

This is because they've reached a level (as have I)--one that I don't believe if that high up there--where spamming is a simple tactic and the easiest thing to counter, because it's like one person who's going to punch you in the same spot over and over...and over and over and over...so you dodge it once, you break their spam--their game.

But yeah, generally spamming is a weak tactic against those who are skilled. I only do it for the lulz when I am playing with friends.

Hopefully I will own Brawl soon, and woe to whoever shall challenge me. It's been many years (around 5 at least) since I lost melee and so I haven't been able to play much. Yet of all the people I know, only one person can beat me in one-on-one combat, no items; and he's someone that wins local tournaments. Even then, our matches are close.

But yeah, spamming...never understood it. It never worked against me, yet it works against other people and annoys them. If it's one move, and they can't counter just one move, then I think that must say something negative about their skill and comprehension of the game.
