Favorite Band?

Well, I like REM, and TMBG the most. I've always liked alternative rock(And classical, but that's composers and not bands, even though bands play the music the composer wrote,) so when I found out about them, a while ago, a was pretty happy. A good amount of their songs have nice cryptic lyrics thrown in with more obvious lyrics that have to do with the title, but really have nothing to do with the song when you get right down to it(There are a few exceptions, but I'm generally speaking.)

So I've wondered, what bands(And/or genres) do you like and why?

Favorite band? Uh. Dunno what you would call my "favorite". I've been listening to more of Saxon Shore, great band.

I wouldn't say that I have a favorite band but at the moment I do listen to The Cat Empire very frequently (Australian group).

Meh...on the subject of music I know very little...

When I do listen to music, I like Weird Al and Linkin Park...

I also like to listen to my dad's CD Starseed, but that's more for relaxing.

I love the Who. Favorite band.....Lynyrd Skynyrd, maybe? Really tough to decide, I like alotta 60's bands.

I like KoRn a lot... the thing with KoRn though is that some of their albums are pure garbage.

Bandits of The Acoustic Revolution / Streetlight Manifesto. Both have the same songwriter/singer/guitarist (Tomas Kalnoky) and they are freaking amazing. BotAR is basically streetlight + 8 people or so. I have to say Streetlight is my favorite band, but only because BotAR only met together once to make a single EP. If they actually toured they'd be my favorite for sure.
