What games should we pay for?

And though you come out of each gruelling bout,
All broken and beaten and scarred,
Just have one more try—it’s dead easy to die,
It’s the keeping-on-living that’s hard.

I found myself paying more attention to the games in the background than actually listening to the dolt.
"Within every world, there are cultures, within every culture, there are groups, within every group, there are leaders. These leaders are not truly chosen, they are destined, it is their fate to lead, and it is this fate that drives them. Souls yearn to be driven, they in themselves can not direct, however, these leaders are predetermined, by whatever means, to guide the wills and mend the errors of these wandering souls. A forest, cold, cured, flawless, meticulous, and fearful, what drives it, what keeps the balance? The inner beings of all the co-existant creatures swarm together, and every one is guided by another, in more a cycle, then a hierarchy. The eyes of a forest are always watching and guiding, yet the sun never sets on the forest, and it never shall." ~ The Chaos Theory

I actually listened to the "dolt" more than anything, because what he had to say was very insightful and true as far as I'm concerned.

He's right, but, that wouldn't work. This is capitalism, not friendlism. You don't pay for food after you liked eating it, you don't pay or a TV after you enjoy watching it.

He acts as if all "gamers" were a friendly community all tied to eachother through some magical link, but he's actually adressing to some of the scum of the universe (myself first).

Cool on paper, (or screen), not so much elsewhere.

Wouldn't be bad, if he didn't say in the other video that Far Cry 2 was the game of the year 2008, zzzzz...

I prefer not to discredit X argument by Y person because of Z argument they made elsewhere. It's lame to do so.

Yeah, but that might compromise his credibility in the first place.

The whole point of his "rants" are that they are opinions, which do not require credibility to be considered at face value and either agreed or disagreed with. He is not giving scientific lectures or some such.

Not to mention his reason for FarCry2 being the GotY for 2008 was for a very specific reason, that being the fact that it is a conceptual step forward in gaming and immersiveness, which, although I personally like several games better from 2008, feel that is a valid reason for naming it his GotY.
