What Instruments...

Post by Hydrolisk » Wed Jan 28, 2009 2:48 pm

Out of curiosity, how many of you can play a musical instrument? What instruments can you play, and how well (from your point of view)?
And for those that don't know how to play an instrument, what instrument would you like to have learned?
Eh, stuff like that.

Discuss!

I can play B flat clarinet, B flat bass clarinet, and bassoon. I was once learning violin, but I had moved to another city before I got to do anything fun. I probably can't play any of these instruments too well, though, hehe... Ugh...

I'm learning to play the guitar right now. I'm decent at rhythm with my acoustic, but can't really play any leads yet.

Back in 6th grade I started to learn how to play the trumpet, and I was a great natural. I kinda wish that I stuck with it now. Perhaps I can go back and relearn; but that will have to wait a bit. Trumpets are expensive to buy, and I don't want to rent.

Does Guitar in Rock Band count? :P :P

If not, then I'd say that I don't know any instruments. That's not ENTIRELY true though, I used to play the guitar, I took lessons when I was like, 10... But I forgot everything I've learned haha.

Then just recently I've somewhat self-learned to play the beginning to one song on the piano, but again, I don't think that counts. (FYI, it's the beginning to Fur Elise, and I learned it off the piano's while at work)

PS. It's not just the first like 8 notes, it's the first like, 40, up until he starts playing all epic an stuff.

Cool guitarists use bends in their solos.

:p Okay.

Do you guys have an instrumental jam song? Something like Led Zeppelin's Moby Dick? Those are always fun.

Not yet, we only started recently :P. Once we load up a song that we're actually totally confident in (the video on facebook was composed in three takes, and has no bass), I'll see about getting it on here.

Jamming is a blast. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

Also, no using the lack of a bass player as an excuse! The Doors never had a bass player, and they were a great band.
