Hrmm... Garchomp mused as red and black clouds wreathed around the dragon before him. His kind had developed this dragon dance from the ancients, yet this was something Garchomp's grounded ancestors had never managed. He had remembered the last breath of a Dragonite that had challenged him earlier in the year for dominance over the Pokemon of the desert. He remembered a similar move. He remembered slitting its throat from ear to ear despite that.

Enough of this. He had no time to play these games.
He lifted slightly into the air above the building he was standing on and performed a neat backflip spin with his claws to sever the corner of the edifice from the rest. Using the spin's momentum, he gripped the piece of concrete mass and landed upright on the building's center. With no warning, he threw the large chunk of stone at the Salamence with great speed.

GARCHOMP USED STONE EDGE!

Immediately following the attack, Garchomp used the opportunity to perform his own devil's dance, one he had danced numerous times before. He snicked his claws together and focused deeply, calling out the power from within that he reserved for only the most necessary of occasions...

GARCHOMP USED SWORDS DANCE!
Garchomp's Attack was sharply raised.

As the dance neared completion, his eyes darted back toward the dragon and awaited its response.

The stones closed with daunting speed, and Razor knew that even were he to dodge the main projectile, the same could not be said safely of the debris field. His bolstered agility granted him flawless placement, completely eclipsed by the stone, he took his first shot, a single light at the base of his wings flickering off.

A faint yellow glow appeared from behind the boulder that was flying at the dragon. Garchomp assumed this was a typical Dragon Pulse, something that Dragonite had tried on him earlier in the year. They were very similar dragons, Salamence and Dragonite. Something was off, though, the yellow light kept growing....

The boulder incinerated just as Garchomp realized what was going on. The beam was too quick to dodge, but Garchomp egged slightly to the right as quickly as his reflexes would allow.

RAZOR USED HYPER BEAM!
Garchomp lost 10% of its health.

Thanks to the sandstorm, the beam was actually aimed just to the left of Garchomp's actual position, but that didn't stop its impact with the structure at Garchomp's left. The beam penetrated a floor into the building before erupting, causing a massive outward explosion of shrapnel. Before the stones were flying, though, Garchomp had leaped from the building and taken off into the air. His eyes darted behind him as he flew in a circular path to sweep around and engage the Salamence; the structure had effectively evaporated, with all that remained of it being the flying rocks and furniture from inside it.

It seems that the Salamence' vision was skewed slightly and that it had potentially saved Garchomp's life. His singed left wing was stung and pained slightly, but still responding perfectly. Garchomp's cockiness had nearly cost him there, but he would not make the same mistake a second time. His eyes focused with deadly intent on the Salamence - his speeds now reaching that of breaking the sound barrier. He spun in the air as he went, performing a corkscrew to bewilder and confuse the Salamence that awaited him after its attack.

GARCHOMP USED DOUBLE TEAM!
Garchomp's Evasion was raised.

Now moving at mach one, Garchomp barreled toward the Salamence in his mirror imaged and double teamed corkscrew, sure that the Salamence would be unable to to properly strike back while staring into the sandstorm. He swept abruptly around, with his images taking different routes, and went in for the strike --

The building crumbled satisfyingly, but Razor knew this was far from over. He had faced his share of speedy foes in the past, but this Garchomp was at a level Razor could barely reach on his best day. So when his eyes caught the Mach Demon approaching his namesake, his options narrowed rapidly to one.

Various arcane and mystical energies flowed out into his palms, readying his stalwart defense as Garchomp multiplied and closed in upon the Salamence. As the mirages split and came in for the kill, Razor curled up tightly in the sky, every muscle in his tail wound up and ready to burst forth.

As primal energies erupted in Garchomp's claws, Razor slammed his paws together, the two spheres colliding, mixing, and expanding into a protective shell around him.

RAZOR USED PROTECT!

(Quick note, if that should be the end of my move, let me know, but otherwise...)

The full force and momentum of the Garchomp's supersonic strike struck the barrier, waves of energies rippling across the surface of the sphere, but never entering the hallowed ground within. Before the Garchomp had time to respond, Razor sprung his counterattack.

RAZOR USED AERIAL ACE!

His tail whipped out in cruel arcs, the cleaver thirsting for blood to spill. Without a moments further notice, Razor stole the remaining momentum of the strike to shoot higher into the sky in a corkscrew of his own, leaving the sandstorm behind, reaching for the thunderous clouds above.

The real Garchomp was underneath Salamence the whole time, never missing a beat. He had expected some sort of countering attack like that, and knew better than to trust a dead-on assault with his life. As the Salamence flew away, though, was when it was most vulnerable. It didn't even look back, expecting Garchomp to be recoiling from his sure-to-hit attack. Fool. Garchomp looked up at the Salamence as it flew into the clouds and fired an attack at its blindside faster than it could fly.

He was wrong. It would be refreshing, in its own way, were it not about to cost him dearly. He didn't see it as much as sense it at first, but from the moment the Garchomp had him in his sights, his smile had faded.

No time to move, to dodge, to defend himself, Razor once again felt cornered into a singular choice. He would need to reverse their positions soon if he had any hopes of surviving this without resorting to that. Swiveling to face the pulse, he realized that he had no time to offer up his own as a countermeasure, so he did what he could.

RAZOR USED IRON TAIL!

Swinging with all the might he could muster, Razor hoped against hope to deflect the attack. Even if he was unsuccessful in this, however, he knew that his tail would absorb the brunt of the damage, a necessary sacrifice.

Razor lost 27% of its health.

The Salamence had little chance to dodge the attack, but managed to set it off prematurely to avoid a bulk of the damage. Garchomp knew better than to let up, he had to take him while he was slightly injured and finish it quick now that it had finally started! Garchomp lunged toward the Salamence at full speed, accelerating to break into the dust cloud that the Dragon Pulse had kicked up. As soon as he was in range, he went for the kill with an attack that would surely end it. Garchomp's body began glowing an incandescent shade of red as he dove toward the dust cloud within which the Salamence sat, aching for the end. As he neared it, he unleashed his attack -

Crux did not trust his eyes.
He could not fathom nor follow the great speeds at which the Earth Dragon fought. Not but a moment after the fight began, Crux took a seat upon the earthen floor and released another of his accomplices from the confines of its cage world. The ancient Arbok was huge, the coils easily sliding around Crux, capable of crushing him if it so chose. The hood of the venom serpent loomed over the body of the Asher-ban Devil and the lower jaw of the snake rested against the top of the bandits head. The large eyes took in the world, never blinking, and saw absolutely nothing. They were white, all white with white pupils and white irises, only the thin black lines separating the two. Wicked, curving scars criss-crossed the area around the eyes, telling a sad tale for all to see, the mistreatment of the creature at the hands of some monster. The giant snake settled it's body and tasted the air.

"SSsssssssSSssoo it hassSSSss come to thhhhiissssSSS."
It's voice rasped with the very soul of the desert behind it.
The Arbok seemed to 'hug' its shape closer to the bandit, almost binding him with its coils. Crux sat still cross-legged, fists against his knee-caps, head bowed, eyes closed. His shoulders hunched up and down as the snake rested its weight against him once or twice as it sought the perfect position.

"Kaa...focus. The Dragon rages with its kin above us. Tell me what you taste."
Blind Kaa flicked his tongue and let his other senses draw the world around him.
His coils felt the many vibrations, the sandstorm on his tongue making the world a heavy static of backwash. The rubble bounced as gods clashed in the air. Another storm raged, one of wind and water, clashing with the sand in an effort to hold back the tide. Blind Kaa shifted and his taste again made the world sharp. An echo, a scant second of phantom sensory input shaped the world for his 'eyes' to see. The Salamence. The Garchomp. The Ancient Stone Wyrm Sutekh. The build up of power for a Hyper beam waiting to be unleashed at the right moment. The unrest of two others nearby. A woman, hot-blood. Emotions. He could pracitcally see her as he traced the images of her blood moving in her veins, the steady beat of her heart like a drum. The near death of the man he coiled around, a slow and steady beat of anticipation. Kaa could taste the order on the mans lips and knew what had to be done.

If Sutekh was the cannon, Kaa was the sights.

The old snake tasted the air again.
"SSSSsssSSSssooooonn."

The whole world hung suspended for a moment after the impact, blood gushing from between shattered steel, his cleaver obliterated in the explosion. When the world snapped back into motion, he boiled with something new, or more exactly, something left behind long ago. He had been overcome with a rage so exacting, so conniving, that it gave pause to those who preferred their calculations cold.

He moved quickly, using the cover of his own broken flesh to hide his actions and mislead his foe. His first act summoned the great winds, wrapping tightly about his form, and hopefully granting him the edge he'd need.

RAZOR USED TAILWIND!

RAAAAAAAAAALAAAAAAAH! he screamed, snorting brightly glowing embers into the cloud. With this, the cloud beamed with the the illusion of a great, building energy, while his wings silently took him out of the back of the cloud.

RAZOR USED EMBER!

He held the hidden path as long as he felt he could stand to, before making a hypersonic break for the cloudlayer, his great chance for victory within reach.

The cloud glowed brightly, just as Garchomp had expected. No doubt it was charging some attack with which to strike back just before Garchomp's attack connected. Noting the variation, Garchomp swung around the cloud and diverted his attack, releasing much of his pent up energy so that he could focus on where and what the opposing dragon was doing. As soon as he had cycled around, though, he noticed in his peripheral vision the opposing dragon flying higher into the upper cloud layers?! What?! Damned that thing! It had been a diversion to draw him away! Garchomp was infuriated by this insult! He had no time for these petty games and yet, it dared to push him further!!

Garchomp loosed a feral roar filled of contempt. HE WOULD NOT BE MADE THE FOOL! With an ease that only a dragon could muster, Garchomp threw itself toward the clouds after the Salamence.

Weavile reached the edge of where he had heard the roar of the behemoth before. Looking up while under cover of a rather defunct truck, he saw clashes of tooth and nail and explosion in the sky above. There was a great fight going on there that no doubt involved the Garchomp of interest to him. If only he could help... He glanced over at the leaning structure; it was bent even more than when he had first come over here. The sandstorm was gradually blowing it over, and pieces were falling off of it at every moment. Somehow, it was balanced at the moment, but it would not hold for long - especially not with such a battle raging overhead.

A Skarmory flew by and landed atop the truck, looking around for something to kill, no doubt. Weavile had no intention of drawing the entire flock's attention, especially when they were so difficult for one such as he to take down. Weavile hid underneath the truck, away from the sandstorm, biding time and pondering his next move.

He burst through the top of final clouds as the great winds bid him farewell, their task complete for which he would be ever thankful. They had bought him all the time he needed, but not a second more. He could see the sky clearly now, the first stars peaking out from beyond the veil. It was here he would make his stand, here he would strike the Garchomp with the singular blow to prove himself lord over these skies. Little did he know there was one yet greater still.

He raised his head to a singular star, the one he wished upon as a child, back before he knew the freedom of flight, and the burden of shedding the blood of those he called brothers. It was, in fact, this very star, and that very wish, that taught him to fly, taught him to kill. And for that, for all it had done for him, and so much more, he chose to honor it in a display of might unseen for generations. He would pluck the star from the heavens themselves.

Brothers, heed my call, and grant me your strength. My strength.

The first light at the base of his wings flickered on for a moment before blowing out, and the rest followed suit, one after another.

The heavens shed a single tear

Annen

Eset

The Bright One howls, torn out of place

RAZOR USED DRACO METEOR!?!?!

Razor's dragonheart beat in unison with those of his enslaved bretheren, their combined power ushering a call deep into the heavens, ripping an immortal from place to serve a mortals ends. The Garchomp was close, closing with terrible, incomprehensible speed, but the Salamence stood calm, facing down into the clouds as the Meteor crashed down, tearing through the upper atmosphere.

His hands shook, his breathing heavy, his wings heavier than they had any right to be, but he hung there, waiting. He had done the impossible, now all that remained was to let it run its course.

He swirled his massive girth across the plane of the Earth's atmosphere, wreathing in and out of the ozone layer itself to witness what he had sensed. Something had summoned forth a Draco Meteor from within his territory, and even he - the Primordial Dragon itself - respected such a display of power. He saw a Salamence mustering all of its might, and he sensed a Garchomp barreling at it at high speeds. He saw through the veil of their fleshy hides and into their dragon spirits - they were not here for him, they were here for each other. He would not interrupt.. This time.

His rage blinded him, but he could feel it in his bones. Salamence had performed a technique that sang out to the blood in Garchomp's vains, and yet he persisted. He was not going to back down, he was not going to stop when this attack struck him, he was going to push through and eviscerate that Salamence if it was the last thing he did!

GARCHOMP USED RAGE!
Garchomp entered into a rage!

He plowed through the uppermost echelon of clouds and came face to face with what he knew was there - a Draco Meteor. It's width was akin to a several comet fragments flying in unison. He barreled into it, claws in front of him ready to tear it apart, uncaring of the consequences.

The largest of the meteor shards struck him dead-on, exploding on contact as several others carried onward toward the city around him. The pain was legendary, Garchomp knew that he shouldn't have driven into it so blindly, but he didn't care. He began pulsating and glowing a deep red hue with black clouds radiating in circles around his form. His draconic rage had activated deep within him, skyrocketing his attack to the maximum level. Anything that connected with the Salamence would now tear it apart. Garchomp tore through the sky toward the Salamence, despite having just been struck by its most powerful attack. Its speed was blinding, and the shockwave that followed it emptied the local atmosphere of all particles simply by being there. The Salamence was tired, exhausted by his attack, too slow to react, and with no distractions to afford.. Now was Garchomp's only chance -

Razor trembled, shocked beyond reckoning that the Garchomp still so much as existed, and the fact that his now vorpal claws were coming straight for him, the words to materialize that fear were beyond him. Razor fell, fragments of the meteor dancing down alongside him. Unfurling his wings, he felt a renewed burst of pain, the once comfortable machinery attaching them to his body oozed deep, red blood as he plummeted.

Half open eyes saw the sandstorm fast approaching, but putting strain upon his wings threatened to rip them right off. He was falling, fast and hard, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Shear watched from atop the Pokemon Center, shielded by walls of ice. He saw as his friend fought valiantly, giving and receiving punishment on a colossal scale.

He was likely the first to spot Razor as he dropped out of the clouds above, the Skarmory and sandstorm threatening his now fragile existence. It would be up to him to save his friend now, as they had done one for another since the day they met.

He had been working on a rain dance to clear the skies, but his friend's peril drove his ritual into overdrive, the clouds letting out a fresh torrent of rain, pressing against the still weakening sandstorm. For the first time since the battle began, the air began to feel clean, the grit began to taper.

SHEAR USED HYDRO PUMP!

As Razor's meteoric fall brought him closer to the ground, a column of water caught him, braking his fall to the point where he was set down as gently as an infant.

Razor's eyes peaked open, feeling ground beneath his feet once again. He smiled a bloody smile, nodding to his friend.

The two entered into the building, taking shelter from the storm. No longer driven, the torrent collapsed and the storm quickly razed the frozen pillar.

Resting himself on a pile of shredded mattresses, Razor closed his eyes, while Shear inspected both his wounds and checked his equipment for damages.

RAZOR USED ROOST!
Razor restored 50% of its health!
Razor is resting peacefully

Lapras looked up from his sleeping ally, hearing the distinct cry of Skarmory clawing at his Icy barricades. His rain dance had alerted them, and it wouldn't be long before they found their way in. Razor was out cold, likely not to awaken for some time, with his injuries. Shear would have to mount some defense, or die trying.
