Tumble Down the Rabbit Hole

Post by Kaome Sky Deathand » Sat Sep 20, 2008 2:47 pm

This is an invitation. Though I don't expect you to join in.
The story is very mature, not intended for those that feel they are lacking in story experience, and not often updated.

This is here for me to outline NPCs that will feature in the story as well as some background on things I need to explain.
However, if you feel you have what it takes to be a little 'mad' then by all means. Let me know.
One catch, no Mainstream. There will be little/medium reference to but no actual usage of Alice Main Characters. No Queen(s if you know what I mean), no Mad Hatter, no March Hare, no Walrus or Carpenter, etc., etc.

The Jacks

* Spring-Blade Jack (Spade/Assassin for the Queen)
* Jack-of-the-Green (Club/Guards the center vault for the Hedge Maze)
* Jack-in-the-Box (Heart/Guards the Lost Chest of Toys)
* Jack-of-all-Trades (Diamond/Heir to Diamond Empire/Wandering Merchant of Improbable Goods and Impossible Odds...and Ends)

The Aces

* Ace of Blades (Spade/Warmaster for the Queen)
* Ace of Clubs (Club/War Captain)
* Ace of Hearts (Heart/Female/Chief Assassin)
* Ace of Diamonds (Diamond/Quarry Master)

Four Horsemen of the Chess Empires
(Working Names)

Black
* Death (Left)

Red
* War (Right)

White
* Pestilence (Left)
* Famine (Right)

Creatures of Wonderland
* Bandersnatch
* Jub-Jub Bird
* Momraths
* The Jabberwock (Jabberwocky)
* Tum-Tum Trees
Cruor Vult

Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion,
simultaneously the source of our greatest strength, and our greatest weakness.

Soon we shall be One...joined in the Word.

Nexvesicum Combat Style

Post by Kaome Sky Deathand » Sat Sep 27, 2008 9:28 pm

More work in progress for the main character, Fate.

Nexvesicum Combat Style

Nexvesicum Stances and Figures

Cear Fahn {Sear - Fawn}
The 'Strict Eight' figure.
Feet firm, center yourself. Take sword in (right) hand. The sword will follow your movements. Concentrate on your wrist. From (right) (high, about eye level) to (left) (low, about your bicep) your wrist 'palm down' should be at an angle striking downward. Bring your sword arm up (from the elbow only) and turn your wrist so it is 'palm up' Strike from (left) (again at eye level) to (right) (again about bicep) and turn your wrist back to 'palm down'. Your wrist should NOT exceed past your shoulder width.
Use- 'Flashing blade' feint attacks. Wary guard back-peddling.

Cear Tahn {Sear - Tahn :rhymes with dawn}
The 'Lazy Eight' figure.
Feet firm, take sword in your (right) hand. In large sweeping arcs that flow (right) to (left) and (left) to (right) imagine your opponent square in front of you, a mirror reflection of a man standing at rest. As your blade flows from high (right)(As if you were holding a torch up high) to bottom (left) imagine cutting that man from shoulder to opposite hip. Turning just your forearm (not your wrist) bring your arm up, just across your (left) eye vision, and strike down cutting him from shoulder to opposite hip again (on his other side naturally) Bring your arm up to 'torch' position, being sure to twist just your forearm, and repeat. The 'blade' or 'edge' of the weapon you strike with will always be the same.
Use- Clears 'breathing room' and vegetation with ease. Cuts down scores of momraths with little fatigue.

Conagar {Co - nah - Garr}
Battle Stance - Two-Handed
Stand with your (left) foot pointed toward your enemy and your (right) in the crook of an 'L' you should be standing making a 90degree angle. Your sword, double-gripped, should be pointed at the sky, the flat of the blade towards the enemy. Your left arm should be parallel to the ground and about at 'gut' level, no more than a centimeter away from your body. If you were to turn your head towards your blade (as in, away from the direction of the enemy) without moving your body, the 'edge' would cut your (right) eye in half.

Conahar {Co -nah - Harr}
Battle Stance - Two-Handed
From Conagar bring your arms up. Your (left) should remain parallel to the ground with your shoulder obscuring your mouth. You could kiss your flesh its so close. Your (left) elbow is making a 90degree angle. Your (right) arm should come up behind you and form the 'scorpion tail' (About a 45degree angle at the elbow). The blade, once skyward, is now flat, hovering at eye level just over your (left) bicep. This stance can also be taken a bit lower, at about the neck level or higher above the head. Blade should be as your left arm, parallel to the ground.

Conapar {Co - nah - Parr}
Battle Stance - Two-Handed 'Pointed Blade'
From Conagar drop your (right) arm so the blade points directly at your foe. It should be slightly to the (right) of your (left) foot. Your (right) arm should be fully extended with your elbow at your belt buckle. Your (left) should be slightly bent. Cock your (right) wrist so the tip of the blade is at eye level.

Falca de la Aire {Fol - caa - de - laa - Air}
Battle Stance - Two-Handed 'High Guard'
With your (right) foot one step in front of your (left) knees slightly bent, but back straight, hold your hands up high above your head. Gripping your sword two-handed you should be holding it, elbows bent, just above your head, so that if you were to look up, you would see your thumbs pressing together.

Vor Na {Vorr Nah}
Battle Stance - One-Handed
Form your feet into the 'L' shape. Stand firm, let your arms fall naturally at your sides. Sword in your (right) hand, pointing the opposite direction of your (left) foot.

Vor Ta {Vorr Tah}
Battle Stance - One-Handed 'Reverse'
From Vor Na simply hold the sword in a reverse grip.
As a point of reference, the tip of the blade should be just over your (left) shoulder.

Vor Za {Vorr Zah}
Battle Stance - One-Handed 'Low Scorpion'
Form the 'L' stance. Bend your knees slightly and lower your frame, as if you were hunkering down. Your (right) arm should arc backward, with a bent elbow so your forearm is coming across your waist with your wrist touching your belt buckle. Hold the sword pointing toward the enemy (same direction as your (left) foot) flat of the blade toward you. Your left arm will hand where comfortable.

Nexvesicum Attacks

Esew Mar {Eh - sue Marrr}
The 'Sweeping Victory' attack.
From either Cear Tahn or Cear Fahn strike in a great sweeping arc (eye level) from the (right) and bring your (left) hand to grip the sword as it comes over your head. At this point you should have your sword gripped in two hands by your (left) ear and your head should be passing through the 90degree angle your (right) elbow is making. Bring the blade behind your back and swing full force from (right) to (left) two-handed. Center your weight on your (left) leg and backlash with the sword from (left) to (right) one handed (right hand). You should take one step forward with your left foot now that your weight has shifted to your right with the swing. Bring your left hand up and grip the sword two-handed as you bring the blade to the side of your head 'baseball' style. You are now in Conagar.

Poinsedium Infania {Poin (Rhymes with loin) sed - e - um In - Fahn - e - Ah}
The 'Thousand Swords' attack.
An attack often used one-handed against a single opponent. It is comprised of multiple thrusts into the same target area in a very short amount of time. Each blow is stepped into to deliver maximum penetration and is often followed through by an overbearing lunge or decapitation.

Zamparan Dune {Zahm - par - on Dune}
The 'Dark Cutting Wind' attack.
A seemingly mystical attack derived only from usage of a Vorpal sword. The wielder can either build up a large amount of energy and unleash it all at once in a narrow cone of destruction or lash out several times with particular sword strokes that can slice through objects (and creatures) from a relative rock throw distance.
Note: The energy of the attack cannot be cast instantly. There are a series of three steps, or layers, of energy that must be applied before complete destruction is reached.

Nexvesicum Deathstrokes
Note: Since Deathblows can be delivered from any stance and in any direction I will only describe the actual attack of each Deathblow rather than walk you through it. I will leave the image, to your minds eye.

Nex Fallus {Nex (as in Next) Fall - us}
'Plunging Death'
A deathblow delivered two-handed. Standing above a foe the blade is gripped (reversed) with both hands, brought up, and then smashing down into some vital spot. Often the attacker will drop their center of gravity over their foe for added penetration.
Use; Ensuring no 'playing opossum' from foes.

Nex Narthisicum {Nex Narr - thiss (As in thistle) - ic (As in ichor) - um}
'Final Thrust'
A deathblow delivered one-handed. The sword arm is fully extended, the body often walking into the thrust so as to put weight and momentum behind the blow. The sword blade can be pointed towards (edge facing ground) or sidelong (flat facing ground) against the enemy.
Use; Penetrating thick armor. Fixing a body to the blade (impalement)

Nex Scartosis {Nex Scar - tOh - sis}
'Scorpions Strike' (Fore and Low Strike)
This attack is often used (one-handed) against charging foes. The off arm is used to grapple the opponent, the crook of the elbow behind their head. Thrust with the sword arm into the chest/stomach area, severing the sternum and spinal column all at once. The blade will puncture the back and stick out for you to see.
Use; Instant killing stroke with relative ease. Gives you a 'kicking block' or 'meat shield' against other foes.

Nex Scartosis { " " }
'Scorpions Strike' (Back and High Strike)
This attack is used (one-handed) against charging foes as well. The grapple is different, often dodging to the (shield) arm of the opponent. Gripping the off arm around the base of the the foes shoulder blades (just below armpits) Lean back (you will because of their momentum, but if you lean into it you pick up speed) and strike the blade into the base of the neck (often between their armor seems) severing the spinal column and destroying the throat all at once. Twisting makes death almost assured as the foe is either separated from the mortal coil instantly, or bleeds out/chokes to death.
Use; Instant Kill in most cases. Psychological victory over multiple foes.

Nex Trupidium { Nex Tru (as in True) - pid (As in Piddle) - e - um}
'Death Dance'
This attack is done one-handed. Not often performed, as the situation is a precarious one and the amount of precision is extreme. Surrounded, in close quarters, the sword arm lashes out starting high (Face, eyes, throat) working down in a spiral (Shoulders, biceps) down (wrists, stomach) down (groin, thighs) till you find yourself kneeling. Final strikes are made in the last sweep against ankles. All the foes fall at once.
Use; Getting out of a tight jam when surrounded. Does not ensure death, but the shock often does a foe in as well as leaving them open for the quick one-handed Nex Fallus.

Nex Vipus {Nex Vie - Puss}
'Lunging Death'
This attack is performed one-handed. With a high amount of momentum (running start) the sword arm is brought up from a low point (below the waist) to a high about (Way above the head) in an arc as the foe is passed during a leap. Upon landing, the foes head will split like a melon if the aim was true, the face sliding apart as the head was cut at an angle.
Use; On the go instant kill.

Vae Victus {Vay (Rhymes with bay) Vic - tuss}
'Woe to the Conquered'
This attack is performed one-handed against a kneeling foe. In a high or low arc, the sword is brought in a plunging thrust manor into the area around the heart. The foe, then impaled, is brought off the ground (off arm gripping the shoulder in cases where extreme strength is not in supply) the sword is twisted, then the body cast off as the sword sweeps back in a striking manor against the ground.
Use; Sheer and utter agony in the last dying breath.

~More if anything else comes to mind.

Fate's Powers

Post by Kaome Sky Deathand » Sun Jan 18, 2009 3:57 pm

Fate himself is not without his own powers.
As they are used in combat or even outside of combat I will list them here for you.

Natural Sense
Those that live on the land are tied to it most.
Fate can tell if it is going to rain by how the wind smells, how many hours it's been, down to the minute, since he has last had sleep, what can and cannot be eaten by a humanoid, what to use for curing certain wounds, where to step in certain places and which paths to take in the twisting woods he calls his home.

Power of Eyes
Eyes are mirrors to the soul.
With a force of will Fate can dominate anyone that dares to look him in the eyes for to long.
If his will is greater, then those that are caught in his baleful gaze are at his mercy.

Power of Voice
A lone voice in the darkness can carry the weight of the world.
With a careful choice of words, Fate can stall even the heaviest hand and chill the raging beast within others.
Then again, a single word can give a man courage, or make his greatest pleasure, into a nightmare.

Fate's Armaments

Post by Kaome Sky Deathand » Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:44 pm

Fate has armed himself with powerful artifacts.
These were things not lightly found or given, but often having a great story behind them.

The Vorpal Blade
A sword of unique design, it is three-and-one-fifth spans by one-third span across.
It's maker is unknown and how Fate came to possess it and wield it with such ease is the subject for much debate in Wonderland circles. Yet what has been done with it is known by all...it is the only weapon that has ever slain a Jabberwock.

The Black Bag
This bag is secured to Fate's belt by several straps and bindings.
More than once people have seen Fate take out and put in more items than that small bag could carry.
When asked about it, all Fate would say is: "It was a gift..."
