Re: 1.09 and Beyond

Just out of curiosity, what more needs to be done to finish 1.09?

Personally, I don't care for weather effects. The only one I kind of like is snow, and that just wouldn't work in DoE.

Recommend Me a Map

Me and my group of friends have fairly regularly played WC3 for the past few years. While it's great that WC3 has had such longevity, I feel like We've ran out of things to do. Even the old standbys when things start getting boring, like Uther party and tree tag feel old. I need a recommendation, th...

Re: Random Person at the TCG Forums Starts a DOE vs. DOTA Poll

I can't read Thai and online translators I tried didn't make it much more readable. Can you translate some of the discussion that happened in that thread? I'm interested in the reasons why people prefer DoE over DotA or vice versa.

Re: 1.09 and Beyond

This isn't a game issue so much as a cosmetic one. After each player has chosen their hero, the heroes not chosen stand around at the hero selection area like invulnerable statues. Is there any reason they stay in the game instead of removing them or making them invisible to players?

Re: 1.09 and Beyond

I really like the new skins planned for 1.09, especially Brother Victor. I haven't been paying close attention, what heroes still need skins for 1.09?

Re: AotZ < DoE (apparently)

The reason why DoE is hosted more is probably since it has been updated more recently. While I really liked AotZ, I play DoE much more because there are fewer bugs and it has better balance. I'm sure AotZ will be hosted more when 3.0 comes out, but I have no idea how long that will be.

Re: 1.09 and Beyond

I don't mean buying an item would cause it, I mean with an item you could buy you could toggle the item to toggle the option on or off. What do you mean the switch needs to be "Done at runtime"? Do you mean the option would need to be done when the map first loads?

Re: 1.09 and Beyond

Oh, I didn't realize it was they typing of the command itself you had a problem with. While it's awkward, I mentioned typing a command since that was how the other map did it. I'm sure it could be done any number of ways though. Using this command in a way could be seen as having an advantage, so I ...

Re: 1.09 and Beyond

The problem is ethereal until you have to play with lag regularly. Where I live, I don't have any options for ISPs without bad latency. I have cable broadband, and my ping is still around 200ms to other players. While holding position is an option for me, it isn't ideal. It simply isn't feasible whe...

Re: Memory

 Got it. U-h-hg, fish. What? Do you think that was your problem? While getting enough sleep every day is important, it helps to get to bed at around the same time every day too. Also, you don't need to eat fish if you want more omega 3 acids. There are health supplements that do the same thi...

Re: Memory

An irregular sleep schedule can reduce the effectiveness of a person's memory. Not just a lack of it, but sleeping at different times every day can impact it too. Aside from that, there are a number of substances which can improve your memory, but they are either of questionable effectiveness or leg...

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire

I haven't played much since I've been having computer issues, but have you gotten a chance to try out some of the mods for Sins? There are a bunch that change the graphics for the better on the sins website, but there is this really good one I've been watching the development of. I'll post it here i...

Re: King Leoric Strategy Guide

I'm not the one who said those keep in mind, it was other dota players when I asked them. I haven't played RoC dota, so I didn't know he wasn't in it. Maybe they were talking about one of Guinsoo's early versions. EVERY community thinks their map is the only balanced one on bnet. One time I showed D...

Re: 1.09 and Beyond

There was this really great feature I saw in a map called Defiance's ORPG I haven't seen elsewhere. It was activated by having a player type -autooff or something. What it did was make it so your hero wouldn't automatically attack anything nearby. The reason this map had this option was because the ...
