Likely a result of not being able to heal quickly away from fountains.

Which is why mana and health pots in some form or another = a must.

I'm fine with purity pots being thrown out though. They just seem on the lame side of things.

Re: v1.11 Discussion

I think there were some good ideas, but the implementation was overkill. A good example being Dis' new heartburn/spitfire combo; one of the things about the old Dis that was so cool was that he was a hero that demanded ridiculous aggression and epicness. While some aspects of the change are nice, it...

Indeed. But the point Fanny was trying to make was that the game ends too fast from outpost smashing.

Which is interesting, because DoE's fairly fast full games even in reasonably fair situations is one thing that makes it awesome IMO.

Re: The Cold War, Part 2

Russian soldiers burned down villages, commited rapes and murders. If that's not banditism, then I don't know what is. Says who, Mikheil Saakashvili? The same fellow who was whining about how Gori was captured and Russians were encircling Tblisi while at the same time Reuter's reporters in the area...

Re: The Cold War, Part 2

Georgia did attack S. Ossetia, killing well over a thousand people and razing the capital. Russia's response isn't really that much different from what the US did in Serbia in '99, the biggest difference being that Western media and politics aren't on the side of the retaliation. It's not like Georg...

Re: DotA really did some good research

Though honestly, why can't we do anything to at least get a replacement for IceFrog... Because he's entrenched in the community. Really, unless you like murder the guy or something, if he doesn't step down, he's there to stay. And I personally don't consider poor map editing to be a legitimate caus...

Re: DotA really did some good research

That was a pretty wretched and unprofessional critisism section tbh.

Though I am impressed that they managed to blast it out of existance in so little time.

The thing that's always made me laugh about that song is that he only made like 2 lines for it. The melody is daddy dj's and most of the lyrics are wc3 sounds.

Re: Waits and Knockbacks

Precision is acheived via timers. With those, if you demand a callback after .03 seconds, you get a callback after .03 seconds. Heck, if you demand a callback after 0 seconds, that works too (actually, it's extremely useful for manipulating things that happen instantly before and after things. Such ...

Re: Another Leak Question

Aight, thanks. By looking through that and other stuff I beleive I get it much better now. The reference objects have a value attached to them, and get destroyed when the value is zero and they aren't referencing things, but unless you compensate for the bug here, the value won't decriment and will ...

Re: Another Leak Question

What if you just create a unit by using 'local unit u = CreateUnit(parameters)'?

Does that need to be nulled if the unit doesn't get removed?

Both you a while ago and the tutorial on wc3campaigns stated that it doesn't.

Re: Another Leak Question

It depends what you mean by a reference. If you reference the global location directly, you're fine, but if you reference it in the form of a local variable you'll have to nullify that local at the end of the function. Wait, what? I thought you wouldn't have to because the local is using a referenc...

Re: AoS Terrain

I'm currently making an AoS of 3 bases. I took a lot of things into count, I made a well rounded lore, and I'm nearly done with the terrain. All bases have 3 outer bases, and they attack each other through them, and they also attack each other in a triangle in the middle. It's based on the Sunken R...

Re: Unusual heroes that work

You should have seen the hero before he was remade. Originally, the order of the orbs mattered too, resulting in a total of 27 possible skills. I may have made it sound complicated, but it really isn't. After two games I had more or less fully understood the hero. Even new people do OK with him. As...
