Oh, if you're looking at my hp, don't. I'll run out of food, most likely, and die of starvation. :(

Unless I use this time to make a run to town... actually... that's a good idea.

EDIT: Also, it's too bad that Bullroarer isn't the bonus challenge. I just killed him, haha... he has a nice axe, too. Score.

EDIT 2 & 3:
Oh, hey, look who I found.

Image
Took forever to hunt him down, but I got 'im.
I also managed to find the Farmer's other dog.

Invest in recall scrolls, they're a life saver. Also, good job on Smeagol -- I picked a human character, so I can't even see him properly to fight him and kill him yet.

And Hito, when you get the chance, can you put player name next to their names in the first post? I have no idea what Heart's character name is to give him the +10.

Oh, my character is Sanesh. And yeah, I got lucky enough to find him... three times. He kept vanishing after stealing gold from me. He didn't drop anything good though.

Oh, I updated the screenshot because I managed to find the farmer's other dog, too. I also decided to try one of my scrolls and discovered it was Identify, so I learned that I'd picked up a Small Metal Shield of Elvenkind (3, +7, +1 to stealth).

Deciding to climb the dungeon again was the luckiest decision I've made yet.

I can't believe that you actually play with those silly symbols. Text-game ftw in my opinion.

Yeah, the new beta is even more old-school. #'s for walls.

I got a little too excited and decided to make this into a half RP, half OP contest. This is going to be good.

I was trying to do that, sort of, with my other topic.

That's the reason I play with graphics; there weren't any symbols for walls in the text version that we were playing. I hate not having visible walls.

Works for me, Dusk. Since I dl'ed the beta I need to start a new character anyway, and this way I can participate. I'll just write challanges for the next couple of times in the pure gameplay part here off of where my old version character got to and then you can have Janus take over.

Though, are you playing the new one, Dusk? It's got some pretty neat changes, I recommend it.

I'm just worried that people around here aren't going to be able to stay alive to get very deep into the dungeon.

For future reference, how do you combat being Poisoned?

Well, if it makes you feel better, Logue, I think 3.1.0 is a bit harder than 3.0.9. I'm having troubling getting a character up to Elo's level.

Anti-poison potions or mushrooms, some kinds of curing potions, skills that purge it from your body, or just healing in general and outlasting it. Also, you should probably invest in more equipment before delving down to that level. It honestly doesn't surprise me that you died! :<

I've been playing my Dwarf again while my L20 pally waits for you guys to catch up.

Also, I like 3.0.9, I'm really used to it and don't think I'd want to adapt to any changes in 3.10.0.

It's not so radically different. Loot is rarer but is more likely to come in stacks (you find five blue potions on the ground) which makes selling a fun game - do you sell them all in case it's a bad potion or just sell one and hope it ID's a stack of something great like speed? Invisible enemies are present from the get-go. Other than that, like I said, I think it's a bit harder. But it's not like there are new keybindings or anything to "adapt" to.

Or you just play like me and stick every potion you don't have ID'd in your house until you can use an identify scroll/perception staff on it. :p

It doesn't sound too radically different after all; I do fear the idea of it being harder, though. It's hard enough for my characters as it is!
