The point of conformity is to make it easier for new players to get the hang of. "Oh, new hero I haven't tried! Cool, he has the same hotkeys, maybe I won't suck." Etc.
WERFG is what I'll go with more than likely.

er... I don't know the way you use to relax but this is one of the most uncomfortable finger positions, I've ever read in this thread of mine. However, I agree with Deschain except for the H because its used for 'hold position' (if I'm not mistaken). I think N or V for the thumb would be fine.
Besides I think there have been enough posts in this thread now. There is a sufficiently long list of general hotkey suggestions and any other one would be just spare. Dusk already said he'll alter them and I think he can close my thread by now.
